As we know the currently technology for headlights for cars includes halogen and HID. HID is more popular on expensive cars such as BMW and Mercedes. Originally it used to be an expensive technology, but these days kits can be had cheap. This leads us to whats next? Could LED replace HID? Currently the technology is to fresh to use as headlight replacement. Conversion headlights currently need at least a few thousand lumens to light up the road and the LED to do this would cost too much.
LEDs are perfect for grow lights because they use very little power. They give off low heat compared to halogens. LED grow lights have a lifetime of lifetime of 50,000 hours- the equivalent of 18 hours a day for 71/2 years.

The question we get asked all the time is can I get a 20ft or longer LED strips, also know as a flexible LED. That answer usually is not if your looking for a 12V LED strips. The 12V wire running the length of the strips is rather fragile and can get damaged when run that long. One little cut and a large portion of your strips would be ineffective. We usually do not recommend strips longer than 8ft.

Can LEDs one day be able to put light output compared to a 100W light bulb? That is a question we will soon find out since we do have LED bulbs putting near 15W of output in a single element. They do require extreme heat cooling with large fins. Perhaps they will figure out a method to produce more heat efficient LEDs that can be small enough to replace a standard bulb and put 100W worth of output out.

Very soon we no longer will be using halogen lighting. It will be a thing of the past. Imagine all your lights in your home and even in restaurants, clubs and bars using colorful LED lighting products.
