We consumers have a real tough time of things when it comes trying to sort truth from fantasy. How many of us have went into to purchase some high end consumer item, only to be quickly ambushed by a pushy sales representative who is all too eager to pawn off some “accessories”? As a result of all this “goodwill” and “friendly pointers” our final invoice is significantly inflated than what it was at the beginning. It is little wonder then that consumers look to try and save a buck wherever they can, seeing as the sales people will be all too quick to snatch it up.
This is an extremely sad state of affairs, not only because it shows the uglier side of profiteering and capitalism, but because it is also reflective of the rather woeful lack of trust that customers have in their traders. With such a distorted portrayal of the facts, how on earth is the consumer going to be able to make a wise decision?
If you have heard a great deal of seemingly enthusiastic chatter from sales reps about the wonders and magic of LED car lights then prepare to be amazed, for you have just encountered a very rare thing: a sales pitch which is actually based on truth and solid facts. LED lights are nothing short of remarkable, combining high intensity with an extremely durable and robust nature they present a significant saving boon to the customer.
One of the most frustrating aspects of “traditional” car lights is that they contain a metallic filament inside them which conducts heat in order to create light. The only problem is that the heat that passes through in this manner will slowly but surely take its toll on the metal causing it to crack and erode. Furthermore, a lot of the heat is absorbed by the metal rather than actually passing through it meaning that a significant amount of the energy is lost, with the end result being that the amount of light that is emitted is also reduced as a result.
LED lights are not plagued by this simple but essentially fatal design flaw meaning that they are fully operational with a significantly lower wastage ratio. It also means that they last for much longer, and the LED lights which rely on xenon can be effective for up to ten years a bulb. Now that is a fantastic saving!
